Robert Blair (badminton)
Robert Blair (born 16 August 1981 in Irvine, Scotland) is a retired Scottish badminton player specializing in doubles. He competed in both men's doubles and mixed doubles events.
Blair achieved significant success in his badminton career, representing Scotland at multiple Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games. He partnered with a variety of players throughout his career, notably including Imogen Bankier in mixed doubles and Anthony Clark in men's doubles.
One of his most notable achievements was winning the silver medal in mixed doubles with Imogen Bankier at the 2010 World Championships in Paris, France. This was a historic result for Scottish badminton.
Blair has also won several medals at the European Championships, including a silver in men's doubles (with Anthony Clark) in 2006 and a bronze in mixed doubles (with Imogen Bankier) in 2008.
Following his retirement from professional badminton, Blair has remained involved in the sport, focusing on coaching and development. He continues to contribute to the growth and success of badminton in Scotland and internationally.
