Rob McEwen

Rob McEwen is a Canadian businessman and entrepreneur, primarily known for his involvement in the gold mining industry. He served as the Chairman and CEO of Goldcorp Inc. from 1994 to 2006, transforming it from a small company into one of the world's largest gold producers. He is recognized for his innovative approach to mineral exploration, most notably his creation of the Goldcorp Challenge in 2000, which crowdsourced solutions for locating gold deposits at Goldcorp's Red Lake Mine in Ontario. The challenge offered a significant monetary reward for the best proposals and is widely credited with revitalizing the mine and pioneering a new model for exploration.

Following his departure from Goldcorp, McEwen founded McEwen Mining Inc., where he currently serves as Chairman and Chief Owner. The company focuses on gold and silver production in the Americas.
