Rob Grant

Rob Grant (born Robert Grant in Liverpool, England, 1954) is a British comedy writer, television producer, and author, best known as one half of the writing partnership Grant Naylor, along with Doug Naylor.

Grant Naylor was the primary writing force behind the science fiction sitcom Red Dwarf for its first six series. They wrote all episodes jointly and published two Red Dwarf novels under the same collective pseudonym: Red Dwarf: Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers and Red Dwarf: Better Than Life.

Following a falling out after series six, Grant and Naylor pursued separate writing careers. Rob Grant continued to write novels, including Colony, Incompetence, and Fat. He has also worked on various television projects, including The Strangerers and Dark Ages.

Grant's writing style is characterized by a combination of science fiction elements, absurdist humor, and sharp social commentary. His work often explores themes of identity, bureaucracy, and the human condition in unusual and often comedic settings.
