Rick Volk
Rick Volk (born October 19, 1945) is a former professional American football player. He played safety in the National Football League (NFL) for the Baltimore Colts (1967-1975) and the New York Giants (1976).
Volk was drafted by the Baltimore Colts in the 17th round of the 1967 NFL Draft. He was a key member of the Colts defense that won Super Bowl V against the Dallas Cowboys. He recorded an interception in that game.
Throughout his career, Volk was known for his hard-hitting style and coverage ability. He was selected to the Pro Bowl twice, in 1971 and 1972. He finished his career with 27 interceptions, which he returned for 395 yards and 1 touchdown. He also recovered 10 fumbles.
After retiring from professional football, Volk became involved in business and coaching. He remains a prominent figure in Baltimore Colts history.
