Richard Grenville (1678–1727)

Richard Grenville (1678–1727) was a British politician who served as a Member of Parliament.

Grenville was born into the influential Grenville family, a prominent political dynasty in Buckinghamshire. He was the son of Richard Grenville and Anne Temple.

He served as Member of Parliament for Wendover from 1715 to 1727. During his time in Parliament, he was aligned with the Whig party. While not a particularly prominent figure on the national stage, he was a consistent supporter of the Whig government.

He married Hester Temple, 1st Countess Temple, and had several children, including Richard Grenville-Temple, 2nd Earl Temple and George Grenville, who would later become Prime Minister of Great Britain.

Richard Grenville died in 1727. His political legacy is primarily associated with the successes of his sons, who inherited the Grenville family's political influence.
