Retretti
Retretti was an underground art center located in Punkaharju, Finland. It was known for its unique environment of art exhibitions held within natural cave formations and excavated spaces in the Finnish bedrock.
The art center was established in 1983 and quickly became a popular tourist attraction. The underground spaces provided a distinctive setting for displaying art, and the complex included exhibition halls, a concert hall, and other facilities. Artists from both Finland and internationally exhibited their work at Retretti.
Retretti faced financial difficulties and ultimately closed its doors in 2012. The location is now under new ownership and no longer operates as an art center.
