Rebo (comics)

Rebo is a recurring character in the science fiction comic book series Strontium Dog, published in the British anthology 2000 AD. He is one half of the Gronk mercenary duo, the other being his partner, Zzub. Rebo and Zzub are known for their ruthlessness, greed, and tendency to double-cross anyone, including each other.

Rebo is typically depicted as a large, grotesque alien creature with a reptilian or amphibian appearance. He is physically imposing and possesses considerable strength. While not exceptionally intelligent, Rebo is cunning and possesses a pragmatic approach to survival, often prioritizing self-preservation above all else.

He and Zzub frequently find themselves on opposing sides of the law, hired as mercenaries or bounty hunters by various nefarious individuals. Their schemes often involve elaborate traps, advanced weaponry, and a general disregard for collateral damage. Despite their frequent betrayals and failures, Rebo and Zzub remain a persistent threat throughout the Strontium Dog series, providing a recurring source of conflict and darkly comedic interludes. They are generally played for comedic effect, despite their often brutal actions.
