Pullman (band)

Pullman was an American post-rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1997. The group consisted of members of other notable Chicago-area bands, including Doug McCombs (Tortoise, Eleventh Dream Day), Bundy K. Brown (Tortoise, Gastr del Sol), Ben Vida (Town and Country, Bird Show), and Curtis Harvey (Rex).

Pullman's music is characterized by its instrumental compositions, blending elements of post-rock, jazz, and Americana. Their sound often features intricate guitar work, atmospheric textures, and a strong emphasis on rhythm.

The band released two studio albums: Pullman (1998) on Thrill Jockey, and Viewfinder (2001) on Thrill Jockey. They also released a self-titled EP in 2000.

While the band has been largely inactive since the early 2000s, their albums remain influential within the post-rock community. The members have continued to pursue other musical projects.
