Deep Six (comics)

Deep Six is a team of fictional characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. They are a group of underwater super-villains who primarily serve as adversaries to Aquaman.

Concept and History

Created by writer Steve Epting and artist Michael Bair, Deep Six first appeared in Aquaman Vol. 3, #1 (December 1989). The team represents a formidable threat from the deepest trenches of the ocean, embodying primal and destructive forces. Membership

The original Deep Six roster consisted of the following members:

• Charybdis: A monstrous humanoid with immense strength and the power to generate whirlpools.
• Scylla: A multi-limbed creature with razor-sharp claws and a vicious temperament.
• King Shark: A humanoid shark with incredible strength, durability, and sharp teeth. He is arguably the most recognizable member, having achieved greater notoriety and appearances outside of Deep Six storylines.
• Hammerhead: Possessing the characteristics of a hammerhead shark, including a reinforced skull and enhanced senses.
• Piranha Man: A grotesque humanoid resembling a piranha, with sharp teeth and a ravenous appetite.
• The Trench: Represents the inhabitants of the Mariana Trench, displaying various monstrous and mutated forms. Notably, the collective "Trench" serves as a single entity within the group.
