Ana Botín

Ana Patricia Botín-Sanz de Sautuola O'Shea, DBE (born October 4, 1960) is a Spanish banker and businesswoman. She has served as the Executive Chairman of Banco Santander since 2014, succeeding her father Emilio Botín.

Botín began her career at JPMorgan Chase in New York City before returning to Spain to work for the Santander Group. She held various positions within the Group, including Head of International Banking and Deputy Chief Executive. In 2010, she became Chief Executive Officer of Santander UK, a position she held until her appointment as Group Executive Chairman.

Under her leadership, Banco Santander has focused on digital transformation, sustainable finance, and customer-centricity. Botín is a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in the financial industry. She holds a degree in Economics from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. She was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) for services to the British economy in 2015.
