Predel (Bulgaria)

Predel is a mountain pass in Bulgaria, situated between the Rila and Pirin mountains. It connects the Razlog Valley with the Simitli Valley. The pass is traversed by the E79 international road, part of European route E79, which connects Bulgaria with Greece.

Predel Pass is known for its scenic views and is a popular destination for hiking and skiing. A number of hotels, restaurants, and ski facilities are located in the area, making it a key tourist hub. The annual "Pirin Sings" (Пирин пее) folklore festival is held near the pass, attracting participants and spectators from across Bulgaria and beyond.

The altitude of Predel Pass is approximately 1,032 meters (3,386 feet) above sea level. This relatively low altitude makes it passable throughout most of the year, although winter conditions can sometimes lead to temporary closures due to heavy snowfall.
