Pobjoy P

The Pobjoy P was a seven-cylinder, 75 horsepower radial engine designed and manufactured by Pobjoy Airmotors Ltd of Hooton, Wirral, England. It was one of a series of small radial engines produced by Pobjoy in the 1930s, primarily aimed at powering light aircraft, particularly ultra-light aircraft and autogyros. Its compact size and low weight were notable characteristics, making it attractive for applications where space and weight were critical considerations. The engine was air-cooled and featured a geared propeller drive. It found use in a variety of aircraft designs of the period, contributing to the development of affordable and accessible aviation. While production ceased many years ago, the Pobjoy P represents an important chapter in the history of light aircraft engine design.
