Pictet (crater)
Pictet is a lunar impact crater located in the rugged southern highlands of the Moon. It lies to the southeast of the prominent crater Tycho. To the east of Pictet is the slightly smaller crater Saussure.
Pictet is a relatively well-defined crater with a sharp rim and terraced inner walls. The interior floor is somewhat irregular and contains a central peak. The crater shows little significant erosion, suggesting it is a relatively young formation.
The crater is named after the Swiss physicist and meteorologist Marc-Auguste Pictet.
