HMS Boreas (1757)
HMS Boreas was a 28-gun sixth-rate frigate of the Royal Navy, launched in 1757. She was built at Deptford Dockyard to the 1745 Establishment. Boreas served during the Seven Years' War, primarily engaged in patrolling and convoy escort duties.
During the Seven Years' War, Boreas participated in the capture of several enemy vessels. Her duties frequently involved protecting British merchant shipping from privateers and enemy warships operating in the English Channel and the Atlantic.
Following the conclusion of the Seven Years' War, Boreas remained in service during peacetime. She was eventually sold out of the navy in 1770. The circumstances of her decommissioning and subsequent fate are sparsely documented.
