Pi2 Columbae

Pi2 Columbae is a star in the constellation Columba. It is a giant star of spectral type F1III. It has an apparent visual magnitude of approximately 3.85, making it visible to the naked eye under favorable viewing conditions. Located roughly 270 light-years away from Earth, Pi2 Columbae is considerably larger and more luminous than our Sun. Its mass is estimated to be about three times that of the Sun, and its radius is around 12 times larger. It is evolving off the main sequence, having exhausted the hydrogen in its core and begun to expand into a giant star.
