Phil Cool
Phil Cool (born Philip Martin, February 17, 1948) is a British impressionist, comedian, and musician. He is known for his rubbery facial expressions and vocal dexterity, allowing him to impersonate a wide range of celebrities and public figures, often blending them in surreal and unexpected ways.
Cool gained prominence in the 1980s, appearing on television shows such as "The Comedians," "The Cannon and Ball Show," and his own shows, including "Phil Cool" and "Cool Head." His act typically involves rapid-fire impressions, observational humor, and often incorporates musical elements.
While Cool largely retired from mainstream television in the 1990s, he has continued to perform live shows and maintain a cult following. His work is characterized by its inventive and unpredictable nature, often pushing the boundaries of traditional impressionistic comedy. He is regarded by many as a pioneer of alternative comedy in the UK.
