Peter McDonald (actor)

Peter McDonald (born 28 January 1972) is an Irish actor and writer, known for his roles in film, television, and theatre.

McDonald began his acting career in theatre, performing in numerous stage productions in Ireland and the UK. He gained wider recognition for his film roles, including his performance in "I Went Down" (1997), for which he won an Irish Film and Television Award (IFTA) for Best Actor.

His film credits also include "Felicia's Journey" (1999), "The Actors" (2003), "Six Shooter" (2004), and "Saltburn" (2023).

On television, McDonald has appeared in series such as "Paths to Freedom," "Titanic: Blood and Steel," "Moone Boy," "The Last Kingdom," "Dublin Murders," and "Kin." He is also a writer, having written and directed the short film "Pentecost," which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film in 2012.
