Peter Dunn (general)
Peter Dunn is a retired Lieutenant General in the United States Air Force. He served in a variety of command and staff positions throughout his career, culminating in his role as the Military Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, a position he held from 2013 to 2016.
Dunn received his commission as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Norwich University. He is a command pilot with over 3,500 flying hours, primarily in airlift aircraft. He has deployed in support of numerous operations, including Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
His previous assignments include command of the 375th Air Mobility Wing at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and the 618th Tanker Airlift Control Center (TACC), also at Scott Air Force Base. He also served as the Director of Strategic Plans, Requirements and Programs at Headquarters Air Mobility Command.
Dunn's decorations include the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Air Medal.
He holds a Master's degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Golden Gate University. Since retiring from the Air Force, Dunn has worked as a consultant and advisor in the defense industry.
