Patrick Conlon (politician)
Patrick Conlon (born 1958) is an Australian politician who served as a Labor member of the South Australian House of Assembly representing the electorate of Elder from 1997 to 2014.
Conlon held several ministerial portfolios during his time in parliament, including Minister for Industry, Manufacturing and Trade; Minister for Government Enterprises; Minister for Energy; Minister for Mineral Resources Development; and Minister for Police. He was a prominent figure in the South Australian Labor government during the premierships of Mike Rann and Jay Weatherill.
Prior to entering parliament, Conlon worked as a trade union official. After leaving parliament, he has been involved in consulting work. His time in office was marked by a focus on economic development and job creation, particularly in the manufacturing and resources sectors. He retired from parliament at the 2014 state election.
