Night Terrors (Doctor Who)

"Night Terrors" is the fourth episode of the sixth series of the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who. It was written by Mark Gatiss and directed by Richard Clark, and was first broadcast on BBC One on 3 September 2011.

The episode features the Doctor (Matt Smith) and Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) responding to a distress call from a young boy named George (Daniel Mays), who lives in a modern, seemingly idyllic housing estate. George is being plagued by nightmares that manifest into reality, trapping him and his parents in their flat.

The Doctor and Amy discover that the estate's residents are being taken and transformed into living dolls that inhabit George's cupboard. These dolls are manifestations of George's fears and protect him from the source of his terror: the realisation that he is adopted.

Ultimately, George's powerful emotions and love for his parents are used to combat the dolls and the alien entity that created them, freeing the trapped residents and restoring everything to normal. The episode explores themes of childhood fears, parental love, and the anxieties surrounding adoption.
