Nick Martinelli (basketball)
Nick Martinelli (born January 8, 1964) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'7" (2.01 m) small forward, Martinelli played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for ten seasons, from 1986 to 1996.
Martinelli was born in Niagara Falls, New York and played college basketball at Niagara University, where he was a standout player. He was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1986 NBA Draft as the 46th overall pick.
His NBA career included stints with the Phoenix Suns (1986-1988), Denver Nuggets (1988-1989), and Charlotte Hornets (1989-1996). He was known for his scoring ability and versatility. His most productive years were with the Charlotte Hornets where he was a key role player alongside stars like Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning.
After his NBA career, Martinelli played professionally in Europe. He has also been involved in coaching youth basketball.
