Nevermore (Mylène Farmer album)
Nevermore is the twelfth studio album by French singer Mylène Farmer, released on August 26, 2022.
The album's title, "Nevermore," is a direct reference to Edgar Allan Poe's famous poem, "The Raven," and the raven's iconic response "Nevermore." This theme of despair, loss, and the inevitability of death, prevalent in Poe's work, is reflected in several of the album's tracks and overall aesthetic.
"Nevermore" features production from various collaborators including Woodkid, Archive, Feder, and Moby. It explores themes of melancholy, reflection on the passage of time, and societal anxieties. The album is predominantly synth-pop with elements of electronica and orchestral arrangements.
The lead single, "À tout jamais," featuring Israeli DJ Ofer Nissim, was released in June 2022 and preceded the album's release. The album debuted at number one in France and Belgium (Wallonia), achieving platinum certification in France within weeks of its release. A concert tour, also titled "Nevermore 2023," supported the album.
