National road 52 (Poland)
National road 52 (Polish: Droga krajowa nr 52, abbreviated as DK52) is a route belonging to the Polish national road network. It runs across the Silesian and Lesser Poland voivodeships, connecting Cieszyn on the Czech border with Bielsko-Biała and Kraków, ultimately ending in Głogoczów. The road's total length is approximately 112 kilometers (70 miles).
The DK52 is an important transport corridor, particularly for traffic between the Czech Republic and southern Poland. It provides access to the Beskid Mountains region, a popular tourist destination. The road passes through or near several towns and cities, facilitating local and regional travel.
Significant sections of the DK52 have been upgraded in recent years, including bypasses designed to relieve congestion in urban areas. These improvements have aimed to enhance traffic flow and road safety. Future development plans may include further upgrades to increase capacity and improve connectivity. The road is subject to typical national road traffic regulations and signage in Poland.
