Kuumaa
Kuumaa is a Finnish word meaning "hot" or "warm." It is used to describe something that has a high temperature, either literally or figuratively. For example, "kuuma kahvi" means "hot coffee," while "kuuma aihe" means "a hot topic" or "a controversial subject." The word can also be used to describe weather, as in "kuuma sää" meaning "hot weather." The degree of hotness implied by kuumaa is generally more intense than lämmin, which translates to "warm." Therefore, kuumaa indicates a temperature that is considered significantly above room temperature, possibly uncomfortable or even dangerous to touch without protection, while lämmin suggests a pleasant warmth.
