Bryan Allen (ice hockey)

Bryan Allen (born August 21, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted fourth overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Allen played junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Oshawa Generals and the Plymouth Whalers. After being drafted, he spent parts of three seasons with the Canucks before being traded to the Florida Panthers in 2006. He also played for the Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, and Montreal Canadiens.

Throughout his NHL career, Allen was known as a stay-at-home defenceman, prioritizing defensive responsibility and physical play. He was not a significant offensive contributor, focusing instead on shutting down opposing forwards and blocking shots. Allen officially announced his retirement from professional hockey in 2015.
