NGC 6646

NGC 6646 is an open cluster located in the constellation Sagitta. It was discovered on July 27, 1885, by American astronomer Edward Emerson Barnard. This cluster is relatively sparse and faint, making it challenging to observe with smaller telescopes.

The distance to NGC 6646 is estimated to be several thousand light-years. Its age is estimated to be on the order of hundreds of millions of years, making it a relatively old open cluster. The cluster's apparent magnitude is approximately 8.4.
