Solar (singer)

Solar (솔라), born Kim Yong-sun (김용선) on February 21, 1991, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actress. She is the leader and main vocalist of the South Korean girl group Mamamoo, formed by RBW (Rainbow Bridge World).

Solar debuted as a member of Mamamoo on June 19, 2014, with the song "Mr. Ambiguous." Prior to her debut, she featured on several artists' songs and released a guide demo for Kim Do-hoon's "Love is You." Beyond her work with Mamamoo, Solar has pursued solo activities, including releasing solo singles under her "Solar Emotion" project, covering various genres and showcasing her vocal range. She officially debuted as a solo artist on April 23, 2020, with the single "Spit It Out."

She has also appeared in several variety shows, including "We Got Married," where she was paired with Eric Nam, and "Gamsung Camping." Solar is also active on YouTube, where she runs her channel "Solarsido," showcasing her personality and various content, including vlogs, song covers, and fitness-related videos. Her YouTube channel has garnered a significant following, demonstrating her influence beyond her music career. She is known for her strong vocals, charismatic stage presence, and bubbly personality.
