Michael Bennett (cricketer)

Michael Bennett is an English former first-class cricketer who played for Derbyshire between 1988 and 1994. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.

Born on 26 January 1968 in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, Bennett made his debut for Derbyshire in the 1988 season against Oxford University, scoring 17 runs. He continued to play sporadically throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s. His highest first-class score was 76, achieved against Yorkshire in 1992. He took a total of 27 first-class wickets, with a best of 4 for 40 against Oxford University in 1991.

Bennett also played List A cricket for Derbyshire, making 19 appearances in that format.

He retired from first-class cricket at the end of the 1994 season.
