Woo (band)
Woo was a British ambient/experimental music group formed in the late 1970s by brothers Clive and Andy Gray. The band's music is characterized by its atmospheric soundscapes, incorporating elements of ambient, electronic, and world music. They are known for their use of synthesizers, found sounds, and unconventional instrumentation to create textured and evocative sonic environments.
Woo's early releases were often self-produced and distributed, gaining them a cult following in the independent music scene. Their music has been featured in film and television, further expanding their audience. Throughout their career, Woo has explored various themes and moods in their music, ranging from serene and contemplative to unsettling and surreal. They have released albums on a number of labels, continuing to create music that pushes the boundaries of ambient and experimental genres. The brothers have also worked on individual projects.
