Mubarak Al-Kabeer (area)
Mubarak Al-Kabeer is one of the six governorates of Kuwait. Established in 1999, it is the newest governorate and is located in the southern part of the country. The governorate encompasses a largely residential area characterized by modern urban planning and infrastructure.
Key features of Mubarak Al-Kabeer include its focus on providing housing for Kuwaiti citizens. Significant residential areas like West Abu Fatira and Sabah Al Salem are located within its boundaries. The governorate also includes important facilities such as schools, mosques, shopping centers, and healthcare clinics designed to serve the needs of its residents.
While primarily residential, Mubarak Al-Kabeer also contains some commercial and administrative functions. It is known for its relatively modern infrastructure compared to older areas of Kuwait. The governorate aims to offer a high quality of life through well-planned neighborhoods and accessibility to essential services.
The name "Mubarak Al-Kabeer" is a tribute to Mubarak Al-Sabah, the seventh ruler of Kuwait, who is credited with laying the foundation for the modern state. The governorate's establishment reflects Kuwait's ongoing efforts to develop its regions and provide housing and services to its growing population.
