Mower (band)
Mower was an American hard rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in the late 1990s. The band was notable for its aggressive, guitar-driven sound and its association with the burgeoning nu-metal and hard rock scenes of the era.
Mower's original lineup consisted of vocalist Duane Levi, guitarists Domonic and Dave Casey, bassist Jay Shapiro, and drummer Jeremy Colson. They released their self-titled debut album, Mower, in 2000 on Roadrunner Records. The album featured a blend of heavy riffs, screamed vocals, and melodic elements.
The band toured extensively in support of their debut album, opening for acts such as Slipknot, Sevendust, and Machine Head. They gained a reputation for their energetic live performances.
Mower released a second album, Haiku, in 2003, also on Roadrunner Records. Haiku showcased a slightly more experimental and diverse sound compared to their debut.
Following the release of Haiku, Mower experienced lineup changes and eventually disbanded. Individual members went on to pursue other musical projects.
Duane Levi later pursued a solo career. Jeremy Colson has remained active as a drummer, playing with various artists including Steve Vai.
While Mower did not achieve mainstream success, they are remembered by some for their contribution to the hard rock landscape of the early 2000s and their association with the Roadrunner Records label. Their music can be found on streaming platforms.
