Idrizovo

Idrizovo is a village located in the Gazi Baba Municipality of North Macedonia, situated near the capital city of Skopje. It is primarily known as the location of the Idrizovo prison, the largest penitentiary in North Macedonia. The prison houses both pre-trial detainees and convicts serving sentences for a variety of crimes. The village itself is a relatively small settlement, with its economy and identity largely intertwined with the presence of the prison facility. The location offers a mix of rural and suburban characteristics, being close enough to Skopje to be influenced by the city's growth but still retaining a distinct village atmosphere.
