Moby Dick (2011 miniseries)

Moby Dick is a two-part television miniseries adaptation of Herman Melville's 1851 novel of the same name. It premiered on Encore in the United States on August 1 and 2, 2011. The miniseries was directed by Mike Barker and starred William Hurt as Captain Ahab, Ethan Hawke as Starbuck, and Charlie Cox as Ishmael. Gillian Anderson also appeared as Ahab's wife, Elizabeth.

The miniseries aims for a more faithful adaptation of the novel than some previous versions, incorporating more of Melville's prose and exploring the psychological complexities of the characters.
