Mini-DVI
Mini-DVI is a video output connector used in some Apple Macintosh computers as a compact alternative to the standard DVI connector. It is physically smaller than a standard DVI port, allowing it to be incorporated into smaller form factor devices such as laptops.
Mini-DVI ports can output both digital (DVI) and analog (VGA) video signals using appropriate adapters. These adapters typically convert the Mini-DVI signal to either a standard DVI connector for digital displays, or a VGA connector for analog displays.
While Mini-DVI provided flexibility in connecting to different types of displays, it has largely been superseded by newer standards like Mini DisplayPort and Thunderbolt, which offer higher bandwidth and support for more advanced display technologies. Mini-DVI is generally considered a legacy video output format.
