Manish (band)

Manish was a Japanese pop-rock band active from 1991 to 1998. They were signed to Being Inc. and were known for their catchy melodies and distinctive female vocals. The band consisted of Misuzu Takaoka (vocalist), Mari Ohguro (occasional songwriter and backing vocals, more known for her solo career), and various instrumentalists. While the lineup of instrumentalists changed throughout their career, key members included Tetsuro Oda (guitar) and Akihito Tokunaga (bass).

Manish gained popularity primarily through anime tie-ins, contributing songs to series such as Slam Dunk. Their music often featured themes of determination and resilience, resonating with younger audiences. They released numerous singles and several albums during their active years.

After disbanding in 1998, the members largely pursued individual endeavors. Misuzu Takaoka continued to be involved in music, while other members focused on studio work or other projects. Although Manish is no longer active, their music remains popular among fans of 90s Japanese pop and anime music.
