Mill Hill railway station (Lancashire)
Mill Hill railway station was a railway station located in the Mill Hill area of Blackburn, Lancashire, England. It served the town on the Blackburn to Bolton Line.
The station was opened by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway (L&YR) on 1 February 1869. It was situated approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) west of Blackburn station.
Mill Hill station consisted of two platforms serving the double-track railway. There were station buildings on both platforms, providing passenger facilities. The station also had a goods yard for handling freight traffic.
Passenger services were typically operated by steam trains in the early years, later replaced by diesel multiple units. Services ran to Blackburn, Bolton, and Manchester.
The station closed to passengers on 5 November 1962, and the goods yard was closed in 1964. The station buildings were subsequently demolished.
Today, no trace of the station remains. The line through the site continues to be used by passenger trains between Blackburn and Bolton. The nearest operational railway station is Blackburn.
