Mike McNeill (ice hockey)
Mike McNeill (born February 13, 1987) is an American former professional ice hockey player. He played primarily in the minor professional leagues in North America, including the American Hockey League (AHL) and the ECHL.
Career
McNeill played college hockey at the University of Notre Dame from 2005 to 2009. During his time with the Fighting Irish, he was known for his defensive play and penalty killing abilities. He was a key member of Notre Dame's team that reached the NCAA Frozen Four in 2007 and 2008.
Following his collegiate career, McNeill turned professional, signing with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL in 2009. He subsequently played for various teams in the AHL and ECHL throughout his professional career, including the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Grand Rapids Griffins, and Toledo Walleye. While he never reached the National Hockey League (NHL), he established himself as a reliable and respected player at the minor league level.
