Michael Warren (bishop)

Michael Warren (born April 23, 1937) is an Irish Roman Catholic prelate, and former Bishop of Ferns.

Warren was ordained to the priesthood on May 18, 1961. He served in various pastoral roles in the Archdiocese of Dublin before being appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin on May 28, 1984. He was consecrated a bishop on June 29, 1984, with the titular see of Ros Cré.

On May 7, 2002, Warren was appointed Bishop of Ferns, succeeding Brendan Comiskey. He served in that role until his retirement on July 11, 2017, when he was succeeded by Ger Nash.

During his tenure as Bishop of Ferns, Warren faced significant challenges related to the handling of historical allegations of sexual abuse within the diocese. Reports such as the Ferns Report (published in 2005) investigated the handling of these allegations.
