Pallas (crater)
Pallas is a lunar impact crater located in the northeastern part of the Moon, on the eastern edge of the Mare Frigoris. It lies to the southwest of the prominent crater Atlas, and northeast of the smaller crater, Franklin.
The rim of Pallas is somewhat eroded and irregular, showing signs of past impacts. It is characterized by a series of small notches and outward bulges. The inner walls slope gently down to a relatively flat interior floor. A small central peak rises slightly above the floor, marking the point of impact.
Due to its location and the degree of erosion, Pallas is considered an older lunar feature. It lacks the sharp, well-defined features of younger, more pristine craters. The surrounding terrain is marked by numerous smaller craters and surface features.
