Michael Branch (academic)
Michael P. Branch is an American environmental writer, humorist, and professor of literature and environment at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). He is primarily known for his work in environmental literature, particularly his scholarship on American nature writing and environmental humor.
Branch earned his Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research and teaching focus on the intersections of literature, culture, and the environment, particularly as they relate to the American West.
He is the author and editor of numerous books and articles, including:

- John Muir's Last Journey: Bad Luck and Good Intentions in Alaska and British Columbia
