McGuire (Formula One)
McGuire Racing was a short-lived Formula One constructor that participated in a single race in the 1977 Formula One season. The team was founded by Brian McGuire, an Australian racing driver.
McGuire entered one race, the 1977 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. McGuire himself drove the team's sole car, a customer Williams FW04 chassis. Unfortunately, he failed to pre-qualify for the race, recording a time that was not fast enough to secure a place in the official qualifying session. This meant the team did not take part in the Grand Prix itself.
Shortly after the British Grand Prix attempt, Brian McGuire was killed in an accident while driving in a non-championship Formula One race at Brands Hatch. This tragedy effectively ended the McGuire Racing team. As a result, the team's history is limited to its single, unsuccessful attempt to enter a Formula One race. The team is primarily remembered for its brief and ultimately tragic existence.
