Heartbreaker (1983 film)

Heartbreaker is a 1983 American drama film directed by Frank Zuniga. It stars Peter Coyote, Jennifer Warnes, Nick Mancuso, and Carole Laure.

The film centers around the character of Jake Adams (Coyote), a Vietnam War veteran struggling to readjust to civilian life. Haunted by his wartime experiences, Jake drifts through various relationships and jobs, unable to find lasting peace or connection. He becomes involved with Lilah (Warnes), a singer, but their relationship is complicated by Jake's internal struggles and his inability to fully commit. Further complicating his life is his relationship with his best friend, Gato (Mancuso), and his ex-wife, Papillon (Laure). The film explores themes of trauma, alienation, and the challenges of post-war readjustment.
