Louis Wright (American football)
Louis Wright (born September 12, 1953) is a former American football cornerback who played his entire 12-year National Football League (NFL) career with the Denver Broncos. He was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and a two-time All-Pro.
Wright was drafted by the Broncos in the first round (17th overall) of the 1975 NFL Draft after playing college football at San Jose State University. He quickly established himself as a key member of the "Orange Crush" defense, known for its aggressive and physical style of play. Wright was known for his exceptional speed, tackling ability, and coverage skills.
During his career with the Broncos, Wright helped lead the team to two Super Bowl appearances (Super Bowl XII and Super Bowl XXI). Although the Broncos did not win either game, Wright's contributions were significant. He was a consistent performer, known for his durability and hard-hitting style.
After retiring from the NFL in 1986, Wright was inducted into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame in 1993. He is widely considered one of the greatest players in Broncos history and one of the best cornerbacks of his era.
