Igor Morozov (politician)

Igor Nikolaevich Morozov (born December 10, 1956, in Oktyabrsk, now Kandagach, Kazakhstan) is a Russian politician and businessman. He served as a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, representing the Ryazan Oblast, from 2012 to 2017.

Morozov graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School in 1978. He served in the Soviet Army and later in the Russian Armed Forces, including service in Afghanistan.

Following his military service, Morozov became involved in business. He held various positions in commercial organizations.

In 2012, he was appointed as a representative of the Ryazan Oblast in the Federation Council. While a senator, he served on the Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Information Policy. He was a vocal proponent of Russian foreign policy, particularly concerning the situation in Ukraine and relations with the United States. His term in the Federation Council ended in 2017.

Since leaving the Federation Council, Morozov has continued to be involved in public life and expert discussions related to international relations and geopolitics. He frequently appears in Russian media as a commentator.
