Agrafa (municipality)
Agrafa is a mountainous municipality in the Evrytania regional unit of Greece. The municipal unit sits in the southeastern portion of Evrytania and is part of the larger Agrafa region, known for its rugged terrain and historical significance during the Greek War of Independence. The seat of the municipality is Kerasochori. The area is characterized by high peaks, dense forests, and remote villages.
The municipality was formed in 2011 through the merger of the former municipalities of Agrafa, Aperantia, and Vintiani, as part of the Kallikratis program. The population is sparse, with many residents engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. Tourism, particularly ecotourism and hiking, is becoming increasingly important to the local economy due to the region's natural beauty. The municipality boasts several historic churches and monasteries.
