Claude Roy (politician)

Claude Roy (born June 20, 1933, Saint-Vallier, Saône-et-Loire, France – died December 13, 2015, Cluny, Saône-et-Loire, France) was a French politician. He served as a Senator for Saône-et-Loire from 1983 to 2001, representing the Union for French Democracy (UDF). Prior to his senatorial career, Roy held various local political offices, including Mayor of Cluny (Saône-et-Loire) from 1971 to 1983. He was also a member of the General Council of Saône-et-Loire. His political focus was primarily on issues affecting rural communities and regional development.
