Max Johnston (footballer)

Max Johnston (born 19 February 2004) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Sturm Graz.

Johnston began his career at Queen's Park, progressing through their youth ranks. He made his senior debut for Queen's Park in 2021.

In 2022, Johnston signed for Motherwell. He quickly established himself in the first team, making a significant number of appearances. His performances attracted attention from clubs in other leagues.

In June 2023, Johnston transferred to Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz.

Johnston has represented Scotland at various youth international levels. He is the son of former footballer Allan Johnston and the nephew of former footballer Mo Johnston.
