Matthew Marsh (actor)

Matthew Marsh (born 19 February 1954) is a British actor. He has worked extensively in film, television, and theatre.

Marsh is known for his roles in films such as The Fourth Kind (2009), The Bank Job (2008), An Education (2009), and The Theory of Everything (2014), where he portrayed Robert Oppenheimer.

On television, he has appeared in series including Spooks (known as MI-5 in some countries), Law & Order: UK, Downton Abbey, The Crown, Versailles, and The Trial of Christine Keeler.

His stage credits include performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company and in the West End. Marsh has frequently played roles depicting real-life figures.
