Masvidal
Jorge Masvidal (born November 12, 1984) is an American professional mixed martial artist. He competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Masvidal is considered one of the most popular and recognizable figures in mixed martial arts, known for his striking ability, charismatic personality, and "street fighter" background.
Masvidal has been a professional fighter since 2003, competing in organizations such as Strikeforce, Bellator, and World Victory Road Sengoku before joining the UFC in 2013. He holds notable victories over Darren Till, Ben Askren (in a record-breaking five seconds with a flying knee), Nate Diaz, Donald Cerrone, and Tim Means.
Masvidal is known for coining the term "super necessary" to describe a fight that is commercially appealing, and for his "three piece and a soda" line uttered after a backstage altercation with Leon Edwards. He is the former holder of the BMF (Baddest Motherfucker) Championship, a one-off title belt created for his fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 244. That fight was stopped due to a doctor's stoppage, awarding Masvidal the victory.
