Masterminds (2016 film)

Masterminds is a 2016 American crime comedy film directed by Jared Hess and written by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, and Emily Spivey. It is based on the 1997 Loomis Fargo Robbery.

The film stars Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Mary Elizabeth Ellis. The plot revolves around David Ghant (Galifianakis), an armored car driver who joins a gang of inexperienced criminals to steal millions of dollars from a bank vault.

The film was released in the United States on September 30, 2016, by Relativity Media. Masterminds received generally negative reviews from critics, who criticized the humor and script, although some praised the performances of the cast. It was a box office disappointment.
